The poverty of Haiti -- the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, only less than 2 hours flight time from Miami. Most
of the people live in extreme poverty.
Malnutrition and lack of potable water is the cause of much sickness. There are no government assistance programs,
no welfare, no government health insurance for the poor. If you dont have the money for health care or hospitalization,
you do without.
