Although I was able to hear Radio Semence on the internet, for some reason it is off now. Hopefully
this problem will be resolved before long. It was good to hear the station for as long as I was able to. Pray
that we will be able to figure out what is needed to get back on the net.
Meanwhile,
the biggest Fete of the year for Haitians fast approaches--New Year's Eve. This is a big day and evening as Haitians
will gather in their churches to celebrate and offer thanksgiving to God for the last year and to pray for blessings
in the coming year. There will be much singing, tableaus, jokes, witnessing and a special message preached.
Its a good evangelism moment as even non-christians come to enjoy the festivities.
In Dariol church,
there is a gift exchange from secret Santas among those who wished to participate. If possible an Agape meal is served
with fired goat and rice and beans. Candies are distributed to the children. When times were more prosperous,
there would be freshly brewed strong, sweet Haitian coffee served with fresh bread distributed after midnight. Then
towards morning the obligatory soup gerimou (Pumpkin soup) would be served (as we serve sauerkraut on New Years day).
As times are harder economically many of the traditonal customs have been regretfully halted due to a lack of money.
I wish I was there..............
We pray that the year 2014 will be a blessed one for you all!
Please continue to help the less fortunate in the coming year!
Wonder at the miracles that God allows! If you want to hear our Christian Radio Station "Semence"
online it can be found at www.radiosemencefm.com it still has some bugs in it ( like obamacare) but you will get a taste of it. The signal comes and goes
but hopefully we will get it right soon!
This is a wonderful gift from the Lord. Many Haitian
Christians and non-Christians are able to hear music with the Gospel message and many simply love it.
Thank you to all our supporters who have made these gospel endeavors possible through your prayers and contributions.
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year!
