As we approach the day that we call Thanksgiving, it is only right that we should take some moments to consider
this word...thanksgiving.
The earliest travelers to the new
world from Europe to the American shores were thankful for God's traveling mercies and for the way God watched over them,
provided for them and helped them in their new home. The motivation for thanksgiving is gratefulness.
People who are not grateful will see no reason to be thankful. It is when
you are in need of something and then you are helped by someone that you feel gratefulness. There are some people who
feel the world owes them a living so they will never truly be grateful or thankful as they feel it is only right that you
should help them.
This Thanksgiving, let us reflect upon the
many blessings that God has given to us when He really did not have to. We are wicked, sinful and rebellious.
There is no reason why that I can think of that God would want to help such miserable, ungrateful creatures...but for one-
GOD IS LOVE.
His love causes Him to reach out and be gracious
to His creation of which we are a part. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for
us that we might be restored to fellowship with Him. How many of us today are grateful and thankful of being given an
opportunity to know, serve and eventually live with God where He is? I AM ONE, and I hope that you are also.
We must come to God through His Son, Jesus. If you haven't done so already
I want to encourage you to repent of your sins, confess them before God and accept this wonderful gift of becoming one of
God's adopted children by putting your faith in Jesus Christ.
