Things ARE changing...!
After centuries of being dominated by Satan, Haiti is slowly but surely changing direction as more and more
people come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Years of missionary efforts are paying off. The fact that the majority of
schools in the country are private and CHRISTIAN is a huge reason for this.
Year after year children are being
admitted to and graduating from the schools where they are being introduced to Christ. Over time its having
an effect. There is also a very conservative, biblical based Christian beief system among the majority of the churches.
As the USA and Europe fall into liberal ways and apostasy, and experiencing God's heavy hand of correction, Haiti
seems to be coming into the blessing mode.
Newly elected President Martelly is going in the right diection by appointing
a strong Christian as his Prime minister. Oh, if only Americans would wake up and choose Christian and Godly men/women
as their leaders! If only they would remember Genesis 12 where God says that those who bless and stand with Israel will
be blessed, and those who curse and work against Israel will be cursed! Its time to make changes, or it will be too
late!

Good can come from bad...
The bad is that my truck is experiencing problems with the four wheel drive and the only competent mechanics
are all the way in Port au Prince.
The good is that on the way to get the truck to PAP I was dropped off in Cayes
to spend 5 days of R & R in the Baptist Guesthouse. They actually have indoor plumbing and flush toilets!
AND they recently added WiFi so poor missionaries like me could have a rest and keep in touch with their e-mail messages.
Boy, I should do this more often. The food is very good and the cost very reasonable.
As of Saturday its
back to the wilderness of Dariol, (sigh). I may be spending time at the Radio Station before I go to the States at the
end of June.
Pray for that the peoples' crops will provide them with the food they need. Pray that the ministries
of Gospel Growers will help with the spiritual nourishment needed in our area of service.

A bad omen, spite or just plain old inefficiency,,,?
It was almost laughable, so typical of Haiti and no doubt very embarrasing to Haitians. During the moment
of newly elected President Michel Martelly"s swearing in ceremony, suddenly the electricity went off plunging the room
into semi-darkness. The high dignitaries, including good ole Bill Clinton were left sitting and sweating in the
twilight as the ceremony went on.
It's a wonder that the liberal ex-President feels at home down here in Haiti
as political correctness isn't practiced. Abortion is considered a crime, and homosexuality an aberation
caused by evil spirits.

PREPARE YE THE WAY...
There is a great preparation and clean-up going on down here as Haitians prepare for the investiture of President
Martelly on Saturday. People have a joy and sense of hope (again) not seen since the Aristide appearance.
Everyone
here is expecting positive changes, especially in the South East Department here in Haiti as President Martelly is from this
area. There is talk that a long hoped for highway along the south coast will be started by Martelly.
This would bring progress to our part of the country, and also prolong the life of my poor truck.
Please pray that
the Lord will bless this man as he attempts to lead the poorest country of the western hemisphere out of its misery (with
God's help and intervention!}
Let us also be reminded of the approach of another leader scheduled in the near future.
The Lord Jesus Christ will soon be coming to take his bride, the true church, back to heaven in the Rapture. All those
not on His list will be left behind to suffer through the Great Tribulation. Now is the time to make sure that you are
on that list--accept Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Saviour and repent of your sins. He will do the rest!

The rainy season...
Well, finally its the month of May, and that means RAIN! Haiti has 2 rainy periods which fall in May
and October. Since the "roads" are mainly dirt tracks that means many headaches for those traveling.
So far the rain has fallen mostly at night and then the sun shines during the day which is the preferable way.
The corn recently planted is growing fast, but so do the weeds unfortunately. Haitians don't have access to fertilizer
or weed control chemicals so its weeding the old fashioned way. Lots of pain meds are used because of sore backs due
to the difficult weeding process which is done mostly bent over.
In spite of this everyone is happy to
see things growing again. My grapefruit and citrus trees are flowering. Things are very green, my favorite color!
We hope they will already have a crop before the hurricane season starts heating up. Please pray with us that the hurricanes
will bypass Haiti as they did last year.

THOSE WHO HAVE EARS TO HEAR,LISTEN...
THUS SAITH THE LORD,
"Now write this on a sign for the people, write this on
a scroll, so that for the days to come this will be a witness forever.
These people are like children who lie and refuse
to obey;
they refuse to listen to the Lord's teachings.
They tell the seers, "Don't see anymore visions!"
They say to the prophets, "Don't tell us the truth! Say things
that will make us feel good; see only good things
for us.
Stop blocking our path. Get out of our way. Stop telling
us about God, the Holy One of Israel."
So this is what the Holy One of Israel says:
"You people have refused to accept this message and have depended
on cruelty and lies to help you.
You are guilty of these things. So you will be like a high wall with cracks in
it that falls suddenly and breaks into many pieces.
Those pieces will be too small to take coals from the fire or to
get water from a well."
This is what the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, says:
"If you come
back to me and trust me, you will be saved.
If you will be calm and trust me, you will be strong.
BUT YOU DON"T
WANT TO DO THAT."
